From The Pastor's Heart - December 14, 2008

Dear Church Family and Friends,

Thanks!!!
I would like to thank everyone who participated in any way to make the 2008 North Davidson Christmas Celebration possible. Both presentations of The Homecoming were well attended and were a great blessing. It was encouraging to hear so many good comments from members and guests about how they enjoyed this wonderful Christmas worship and outreach opportunity.

I believe God was glorified and Christ was exalted through the presentations and the efforts of everyone involved. Without the leadership provided by Bob Clonch and Zach Bowman, along with participation of the choir, drama team, sound and light crew, stage crew, those who decorated, and the greeters this event would not have been possible. As I say so often it takes a lot of people to get a job like this done and Union Grove has a number of dedicated servants of the Lord who always rise to any challenge.

Also, I believe the event was a good representation of our church family in the community. It is so important that we continue to share the love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world beginning in our Jerusalem. To do this it requires that we take the worship of our church outside the walls of our sanctuary from time to time. I am excited about plans for future outreach opportunities that are upcoming, two of which are a Fireproof Movie Night and the Focus on Marriage Simulcast. We will be sharing more about these outreaches along with other outreach opportunities soon.

UGBC welcomes Jeff Abernethy
Jeff & Kim Abernethy are our Campus Bible Fellowship missionaries in Charlotte, NC. Bro. Abernethy will be sharing for a few minutes about his ministry tonight and preaching. Bro. Abernethy is a gifted preacher and I am sure his message from God’s Word will be a blessing and challenge to us all. Please be sure to be in attendance tonight and bring someone with you.

You are loved,
Pastor Ken
