From The Pastor's Heart - November 23, 2008

Dear Church Family and Friends,

Happy Thanksgiving
Kim, Claire and I would like to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. We are thankful for you and the opportunity to serve the Lord with you at Union Grove. The Lord’s blessings have been bountiful this past year and we have much for which to be thankful. Plan to be part of our Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

Tonight is our Church-wide Fellowship for the Pollards Do plan to participate tonight in this church-wide opportunity to express our love and appreciation for the Pollards. It will also be a great time of fellowship with our church family.

Surviving The Holidays
Please see the insert in the bulletin today about this encouraging GriefShare seminar. A sign-up sheet is in the Welcome Center for anyone interested in participating.

First Steps Class
I want to encourage all of our newer members, prospective members, visitors, as well as any member interested in the class, to take this important class. It is a great opportunity to learn or be reminded of the fundamentals of our faith and to learn more about our church. The class will be offered two times each week and will be taught in the Welcome Center Conference Room. The class times are Sunday at 10:00 am and Wednesday at 6:30 pm. If you have any questions about the class, please contact me or Bernie Beverly.

Senior Adults
We had a great time this past Thursday at our Thanksgiving fellowship. I want to thank everyone who participated. A special thank you to Jimmy Tullock for cooking our pintos.

Sewer Loan Payoff — $7,156.17
Let’s continue to pray for the sewer loan paid in full by the end of the year. Every extra offering between now and January 28th to the Property Fund, regardless of the size, makes a difference. We will plan to celebrate this milestone on Wednesday, January 31st.

You are loved,
Pastor Ken

Hooray for paying off debt!!! When we payed off our debt, we celebrated by burning a copy of the loan papers! At our church in Guam, we had a mortgage-burning ceremony, and that is where I got the idea. I look forward to someday burning our mortgage!
