From The Pastor's Heart - November 9, 2008

Dear Church Family and Friends,

Thank You Veterans!
We will be recognizing our veterans and those serving now in the military during both morning worship services and honoring them with a meal and special service tonight. It is our prayer that you will feel today the love and appreciation that our Church family has for you and that you will know how much on Veteran’s Day that you are appreciated by our country.

Also, I think that it is important today to pray for all who are currently serving in our armed forces around the world. They and the families they have left behind are sacrificing so much for us.

Farewell Fellowship for the Pollards
We will have a special church-wide fellowship following the evening service on November 23 to express our appreciation for the Pollard family and their ministry at Union Grove. Let me encourage you to write a note of appreciation to be given to them that night. We will have a collection box on the Welcome Center Desk through the service that night.

First Steps Class
I want to encourage all of our newer members and visitors, as well as any member interested in the class, to take this important class. It is a great opportunity to learn or be reminded of the fundamentals of our faith and to learn more about our church. The class will be offered two times each week and will be taught in the Welcome Center Conference Room. The class times are Sunday at 10:00 am and Wednesday at 6:30 pm. If you have any questions about the class, please contact me or Bernie Beverly.

Sewer Loan Update
After our November payment our balance will be approximately $7,156.17. Please pray that we would be able to see this loan paid in full by the end of December. Then we can begin applying the amount we are paying on the sewer loan and additional offerings to another loan. This will greatly accelerate the payoff of the new property.

You are loved,
Pastor Ken

When you think of all our veterans have done for us, it seems impossible to say thank you enough. When we think of the freedoms we have it was because these men and women have given of themselves and some their lives to keep us free. We should never forget the sacrifices that have been made for us. God bless America and God bless all our citizens in uniform. Thank you.
